Siliguri, 12th December: Sensation prevailed after the body of a minor girl was found hanging from a noose in Nirjal area of Abhiram Jote in Bagdogra. The deceased has been identified as Sangita Barman (17), a student of 9th grade in Bagdogra Balika Vidyalaya.
According to reports, on Monday evening, Sangita left her house after a family dispute. Following this, the family members and locals searched for her whereabouts the entire night, however, she was untraced. The following morning, the locals spotted her body hanging from a tree.
Upon receiving the news, Bagdogra police arrived at the spot, retrieved the deceased body, and transported it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
