Siliguri, 11th June: The organisational district unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) conducted a special Swachh Bharat campaign at Siliguri District Hospital. Party workers, office-bearers and BJYM members participated in the programme aimed at keeping the hospital premises clean.
During the campaign, accumulated waste was cleared from the hospital premises and awareness about cleanliness was spread among the public. Patients and their family members were also made aware of the importance of maintaining hygiene.
In addition, BJYM members distributed fruits among the relatives of patients admitted to different wards of the hospital and wished the patients a speedy recovery.
Speaking on the occasion, BJYM organisational district president Saurabh Basu Sarkar said that the Swachh Bharat campaign is not just a programme but a social responsibility. He added that similar initiatives would continue in the coming days, not only at the hospital but also in other parts of the city.
