Siliguri, 28th October: The No. 3 Mandal committee of Darjeeling district BJP staged a sit-in in front of the No. 2 Borough office alleging the failure of Siliguri Municipal Corporation to contain the disease. It is to be noted that the number of cases has been rising day by day in the city. Thus, citing this as the reason the BJP staged a sit-in protest.
During this, other workers including BJP councillor Amit Jain of Ward No. 09 were present. In this regard, BJP councillor Amit Jain said that SMC has completely failed in fighting dengue. He also alleged that the mayor is doing nothing but has only been inspecting the city in the name of controlling dengue. He added that the SMC should take some concrete steps to tackle dengue to put an end to the spread of the disease.
