Raju Bista along with Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) West Bengal president Dilip Ghosh, MP Jayanta Kumar Roy, and district leaders campaigned in support of BJP Malbazar candidate Mahesh Bagey.
During the campaign, MP Bista assured the people that the BJP government will address the aspirations of the people from all regions of West Bengal, especially focusing on North Bengal. He said BJP is an enthusiast of developing North Bengal and transform it into an engine of growth for eastern India.
Bista stated "North Bengal has traditionally remained marginalized and our tea garden and cinchona garden workers, people living in forest villages, and DI Fund Land have been deprived of Parja Patta rights, as soon we form the government our party is committed to start giving Parja Patta within six months. We will also raise the tea garden wages to Rs 350 per day."
Raju Bista said the BJP government will establish an AIIMS in North Bengal, will start IT Park in Siliguri and also upgrade Bagdogra Airport to an International Airport. He promises to work in transforming the region into an education hub and establish a Central University in North Bengal.
Later in a statement released by Raju Bista, he promised to eradicate the acute drinking water shortage facing our people in rural and urban centres of North Bengal. He assured that the BJP government will ensure safe drinking water connection to all households through the "Har Ghar Jal Yojana" by 2024.
Bista stated that after coming to power in West Bengal, his party plans to work in collaboration with the Central Government towards expediting the process of finding a Permanent Political Solution to the issues of Darjeeling hills, Terai, and Dooars region. He added that to ensure good governance, the BJP party will eradicate the tolabazi, cut-money, and corruption, and everyone indulging in such practices will be put behind bars.
Bista said North Bengal deserves a special focus on development, with BJP there is a possibility of a new beginning for the region. He, therefore, requests all to join hands with BJP.
