BJP announces month-long programme in Siliguri to mark PM Modi’s 25 years in public service

Siliguri, 09th September: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a month-long series of social and organisational programmes across the country to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service. As part of the initiative, several programmes will also be organised in Siliguri, with the district BJP announcing the details at a press conference on Wednesday.

A meeting of Siliguri Organizational District BJP leaders was held ahead of the announcement. Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh, Phansidewa MLA Durga Murmu and several other district BJP leaders were present at the meeting.

Speaking at the press conference, Shankar Ghosh said the programmes will begin on September 17 and continue for a month. On the evening of September 17, BJP workers will visit the homes of beneficiaries of various Central and state government schemes and light an ‘Ashirbader Pradip’.

The month-long programme will also feature street plays in different areas highlighting the welfare and service-oriented work of the past 25 years. Special programmes will be organised at Anganwadi centres involving mothers and children, while Anganwadi workers will also be felicitated.

The BJP will also campaign about various Central and state government schemes related to the welfare of women and children. Other programmes will include marches, bike rallies and various organisational and public outreach activities.

The Siliguri Organizational District BJP said similar month-long programmes will be organised across Darjeeling district alongside the nationwide campaign.
