Rajganj, 19th June: Four people, including a grandfather and his grandson, were injured in a road accident involving a speeding motorcycle on Friday morning in the Bandhunagar area under Rajganj, along the Siliguri–Jalpaiguri National Highway.
According to local sources, the incident occurred when a man and his grandson were waiting to cross the road. A motorcycle coming from the Jalpaiguri side reportedly lost control and hit them.
All four persons involved in the accident, the two pedestrians and the two riders on the bike, sustained injuries and fell on the road. The injured have been identified as Rihan Hussain (7) and Mohammad Tumijuddin, both residents of Bandhunagar, along with the motorcycle rider and pillion passenger from the Rajganj area.
Local residents immediately rescued the injured and rushed them to a private hospital in Fulbari. Due to the critical condition of Mohammad Tumijuddin, he was later referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for further treatment.
Upon receiving information, police from Bhorer Alo Police Station reached the spot, seized the motorcycle, and initiated an investigation into the incident.
