Bengal’s bi-weekly lockdown leaves an impact on Kumartuli’s Ganesh Puja preparations

Siliguri, 21st August: In light of the coronavirus outbreak, religious gatherings have been restricted to prevent further spread of coronavirus infections. Due to this, almost all festivals this year was celebrated on a low-key.


Likewise, Ganesh Chaturthi which falls on August 22 will also be celebrated modestly owing to the ongoing pandemic. While every year the day is celebrated across the city with much pomp and enthusiasm, the scenario is expected to be completely different this year.

As per the information, small pujas will be organized in the pandals and its effect has shadowed over the artisans of Kumartuli. Moreover, the Bengal’s bi-weekly lockdown which fell right before Ganesh Chaturthi i.e. August 20 and 21, added to their concern.
