Bear panic in Danguajhar tea garden, surveillance being carried out with drones

Jalpaiguri, 14th December: An atmosphere of panic was witnessed in the Danguajhar Tea garden adjacent to Jalpaiguri surrounding wild bears. 


It has been learned that on Monday evening, a wild animal looking like a bear was spotted in Section 20 of the garden by the watchman and some workers. It was then reported to the forest department. The forest workers reached the spot at night. Footprints were also noticed inside the garden premises. The locals were then made aware of the matter.


The forest department started searching for the animal this morning. Monitoring is being carried out with the help of drones. Meanwhile, the garden authorities have instructed to stop the work thinking about the safety of the workers.

It is to be noted that an atmosphere of panic was witnessed last Tuesday surrounding animal footprints in the Teesta Udyan of Jalpaiguri. Exactly 7 days after the incident, panic spread in the Danguajhar tea garden adjacent to the city.
