Bangladeshi and Nepali nationals arrested for attempting to enter India illegally in Kharibari

Kharibari, 27th March: A Bangladeshi and a Nepali national have been arrested by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel before entering India illegally via the Indo-Nepal border in Kharibari. The arrested accused have been identified as Alamgir Hussain (34), a resident of Bangladesh, and Anup Tamang (32), a resident of Kakarvitta in Nepal.


As per reports, on Tuesday, accused Anup along with a Bangladeshi citizen were attempting to illegally enter India from the Nepal border when they were apprehended by the personnel of 41st battalion of SSB. During the interrogation, Alamgir Hussain admitted being a resident of Bangladesh.

Subsequently, the SSB personnel arrested Anup Tamang on the charge of aiding a Bangladeshi national to enter India illegally. Later, the SSB handed over both the arrested accused to Kharibari police. On Wednesday, both the accused have been produced before the Siliguri court. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
