Alumnus from different government schools of Siliguri raised their voice against the change in school uniform

Siliguri, 18th September: Alumni of different schools in Siliguri have once again protested against the change of school uniforms. This time, the group of alumni joined together to protest against the decisions taken by the government to change the uniform.


A rally was taken out from the area adjacent Baghajatin Park of Siliguri today. In this rally, former students raised slogans of ‘Amader dress firiye dao’ basically mean to return their school uniform indicating to withdraw the decision of changing the color of the uniform. Significantly, in West Bengal, students, parents, and alumni of various schools are continuously protesting regarding the same.

At the same time, today alumni of many schools including Siliguri Girls High School, and Terai Tara Para Adarsh Vidyalaya took out a rally together. Their demand is that they want their uniform back to how it was instead of changing it to blue and white. In this regard, the former students said that the government should reconsider its decision and that every school’s uniform represents their identity and memories related to school.
