All India Fair Merchants Welfare Association demanded resumption of fairs

Siliguri, 30th September: The COVID-19 pandemic has not just wreaked economy globally but has also started taking a toll on the mental health of the people. The lockdown imposed to contain the spread of the virus has also led to job losses and unemployment.

Reportedly, no fairs have been organized ever since the lockdown was imposed, due to which the workers associated with this job are going through tough times.

The All India Fair Merchants Welfare Association held a press conference on Wednesday and appealed to the Chief Minister to permit them to organize fairs soon. They stated that as parks and cinema halls are likely to resume services as per the rules of the state government, fairs should also be held from now on following all government protocols.
