Alipurduar, 17th May: A wild elephant claimed the life of a man named Dukhi Oraon, a resident of the Satali Mandal Para area in Alipurduar district Kalchini block.
As per the report, the incident took place when Oraon rushed out of his residence upon hearing a loud sound on Saturday night.
Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot shortly after, recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
