Administration seals TMC leader’s oil mill over alleged document discrepancies in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, 04th September: The administration has sealed an oil mill owned by Trinamool Congress leader and former TMC councillor Subrata Roy in Jalpaiguri following alleged discrepancies in its documents.

According to sources, discrepancies were noticed after the administration examined the documents of the oil mill. Following this, Jalpaiguri Sadar Sub Divisional Officer Moin Ahamd ordered that the oil mill be kept closed.

Acting on the order, police and administrative officials visited the oil mill on Thursday night and shut down the facility. The gate of the oil mill was subsequently locked and sealed. The action has caused a stir in Jalpaiguri.

However, Subrata Roy’s family claimed that an application for the oil mill’s licence had already been submitted and that the application process was still underway when the administration took the action.

According to the administration, the closure order was issued due to discrepancies found in the documents of the oil mill.
