Siliguri, 04th September: The Siliguri Enforcement Branch has carried out a major operation over the alleged unauthorised use of a brand name and logo for product packaging. During a raid at a factory on Canal Road, the team seized 4,200 packets of ‘Hi Ching’ monosodium glutamate.
According to information, police had received a complaint alleging that the name and logo of a reputed brand were being used without authorisation. It was alleged that products were being prepared and made available in the market under the name of ‘Hi Ching’ monosodium glutamate.
The complainant company reportedly described the use of its brand name and logo as an infringement of its copyright and trademark rights. Following the complaint, a team from the Enforcement Branch conducted a raid at the concerned factory on Canal Road.
