ABVP-SFI clash at Siliguri College; tension escalates, heavy police force deployed

Siliguri, 09th September: Tension erupted in phases at Siliguri College on Wednesday following a clash between members of the ABVP and SFI student organisations.

According to allegations, an argument between members of the two student organisations on the college premises escalated into a physical altercation.

The SFI alleged that ABVP members attacked its members with bamboo sticks. The incident triggered significant tension on the college premises, prompting the college authorities and police to intervene.

Following the clash, both student organisations levelled allegations and counter-allegations against each other. The repeated bouts of tension reportedly created an atmosphere of fear on the college premises.

A probe has been demanded to determine the reason behind the incident. The student organisations have also called for appropriate action against those responsible to maintain a peaceful environment on the college campus.

A large police force has currently been deployed outside the college premises.
