Siliguri, 15th September: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest demanding the resignation of Subires Bhattacharyya as the Vice Chancellor of North Bengal University. The members of the organization also demonstrated in support of several other demands.
State secretary of the organization Subrata Adhikari maintained that they highly condemn the numerous corruptions committed by the Vice Chancellor. “Eight of our members were arrested when we protested before. But we will stage more protests in the coming days,” he added.
Meanwhile, Matigara police force was deployed in the area to keep the situation under control and avoid any untoward incident during the protest.
