Siliguri, 02nd December: A programme was organized at Baikunthapur Assistant Training Cente on the 57th foundation day of Border Security Force (BSF). The programme was inaugurated by Ravi Gandhi, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier.
While commending the hard work of the jawans, the Inspector General stated that Bangladesh with military support from India defeated the Pakistan Army and became independent. Meanwhile, the jawans took an oath to work even harder to protect the Indian border.
It is noteworthy that on December 01, 1965, the Border Security Force was formed by uniting the Armed Border Police Battalions of various states under the leadership of KF Rustamji Indian Police Service. Thereafter, the foundation day of BSF is observed on December 01, 2021, every year.
