Kharibari, 15th September: A three-month-old baby died in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Kelabari, Kharibari. Reportedly, the truck lost its control and rammed into the said bus which was heading from Kharibari to Siliguri.
While the bus driver and a passenger have been admitted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in critical condition, the rest have been taken to Kharibari Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, taking advantage of the chaos which occurred after the accident, the truck driver fled from the spot.
Kharibari Police and Traffic Guard Police reached the spot as soon as the news of the incident was reported. Locals expressed their anger against the mismanaged traffic and blamed it for such a mishap. Police started investigating the incident.
