Rajganj, 22nd September: A python measuring around 13 feet in length was rescued from a bamboo grove in Nakugach village under Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat in Rajganj on Tuesday morning, triggering a stir among local residents.
According to reports, residents spotted the large python inside the bamboo grove, and the news soon spread, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers to the spot. The snake had climbed to the top of the bamboo cluster, making the rescue operation difficult.
Forest officials from the Ambari Range were informed about the sighting and subsequently reached the village. After considerable effort, the officials safely rescued the python by cutting down several bamboo stalks.
The Forest Department said the python was found to be healthy and measured around 13 feet in length. Following the rescue, the snake will be taken to the Ambari Range office and later released into a suitable forest habitat in accordance with departmental regulations.
