112th ‘Upanayan Diwas’ of Rajbanshi Kshatriya Community celebrated in Rajganj’s Ambari

Rajganj, 11th February: On the occasion of 112th ‘Upanayan Diwas’ of Rajbanshi Kshatriya Community, Antar-Rashtriya Rajbanshi Milan Diwas and Kulguru, Kulshishya Conference has been organized on Sunday.


The event witnessed the presence of Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Krishna Roy, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy, President of District Primary Education Council Lakshyamohan Roy, former Zilla Parishad Vijay Chandra Barman, Social Worker Arindam Banerjee, Majhiali Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sumit Dutta and others.

According to reports, the said festival was held on the banks of Karatoya River at Mehendi Gachh in Ambari area under the aegis of Jalpaiguri District Committee of Kulguru Kulshishya and Bhakta Samaj Sewa Sansthan. The event was inaugurated through worships. In addition, renowned personalities from various parts of the country and from the neighbouring country Bangladesh participated in the conference.


On the auspicious occasion, the statue of Thakur Panchanan Barma was also unveiled. Reportedly, in the first phase ‘Shiva’ Puja, ‘Ganga’ Puja, ‘Shakti Sancharini’ Puja and ‘Radha Gobinda’ Puja were performed. In the second phase, the main program commenced by hoisting the flag of the organization and garlanding the photograph of Thakur Panchanan Barma.

On this day, more than 200 teenagers and youth became Kshatriyas through Upanayan. Subsequently, a discussion meeting was held on Thakur Panchanan Barma and the need of Upanishads in Rajbanshi society, in which several dignitaries were present.
