Phansidewa, 11th July: A woman from Kachubari village under Bidhannagar in Phansidewa block was left shocked after her bank account reportedly showed a balance of ₹740 crore. The incident has created a buzz in the area.
According to sources, Mehrun Nisa, a resident of Kachubari village, had filled up the form for the state government’s Annapurna Yojana scheme around a month ago. She recently visited a private bank branch in her village to check the status of the scheme amount and withdrew ₹2,000 from her account.
Later, while checking her account details, a bank employee was surprised to find a balance of ₹740 crore 68 lakh. The employee was reportedly shocked to see such a huge amount in the account of a local woman.
After being informed, Mehrun Nisa was also left astonished. The matter soon spread across the village, following which the bank authorities were informed.
Bank officials are now investigating the matter to determine the source of the amount reflected in the account.
