Youth beaten to death in minor dispute in Fulbari

Rajganj, 05th May: Sensation prevailed after 26-year-old Maidul Alam was allegedly beaten to death in West Dhantala of Fulbari-2 gram panchayat area, on Tuesday evening. Police arrested a youth named Mujibar Rahman in this regard.


According to the information, a group of youths had gathered and were gambling on the banks of Mahananda River. During this period, a dispute broke out between Maidul and Mujibar. Their minor argument escalated and the duo allegedly started physically attacking each other. Mujibar Rahman thrashed Maidul, severely injuring him.

Upon receiving the news of the incident, locals and family members rushed to the spot, rescued Maidul and took him to a nursing home in Fulbari. However, the doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, Mujibar Rahman managed to flee away from the scene.


As per the family sources, Maidul was to be married after a few days. The NJP police recovered the body and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. The police then launched a searched operation and successfully nabbed Mujibar late at night.

Today, the accused was produced in the Jalpaiguri court. Police are investigating the entire incident.
