Kharibari, 11th March: A youth was arrested with drugs in the Dudhgate area near Kharibari’s Panitanki on Monday night. The accused has been identified as Debabrata Sarkar, a resident of Bidhannagar, Phansidewa.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) recovered 101 grams of morphine from the accused. Following the arrest, Debabrata Sarkar was handed over to the Kharibari police.
According to police sources, the recovered drugs have an estimated market value in lakhs of rupees. On Tuesday, the accused was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court.
The police are actively investigating the matter and probing the possible involvement of other individuals in the case.
