Siliguri, 27th May: A man found himself behind bars after his girlfriend lodged a complaint against him for deceit and rape. The incident took place in the Santoshi Nagar area of Siliguri. Mithun Sahni, a 27-year-old resident of Santoshi Nagar, had developed a romantic relationship with a 37-year-old woman from Darjeeling More, under Pradhan Nagar police station. Despite the 10-year age gap, their love blossomed, or so it seemed.
Over the past two years, Mithun allegedly engaged in a physical relationship with his girlfriend, luring her with promises of love and marriage. However, things took a turn when news arrived that Mithun’s family had arranged his marriage elsewhere. Disturbed by this revelation, the woman confronted Mithun, demanding that he fulfil his promise of marriage. To her dismay, Mithun began to distance himself from her.
In response to this, the woman lodged a written complaint against Mithun Sahni at the Women’s Police Station, accusing him of cheating and raping her. Acting swiftly, the police arrested Mithun Sahni within hours of receiving the complaint. Today, the Siliguri Woman Police Station presented Mithun Sahni before the Siliguri court. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the entire matter.
