Siliguri, 27th September: A young man was killed and two others critically injured in a road accident near Tilak Sadhu More area in Siliguri late Saturday night.
According to reports, the three were travelling on a scooty from the Ashighar side when the vehicle reportedly lost control near Tilak Sadhu More and crashed into a roadside light pole.
One of the youths died on the spot, while the other two sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Following the incident, local residents informed the police. Personnel from the Ashighar Outpost reached the spot and recovered the deceased and the injured.
The injured were subsequently taken to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment, while the deceased was also taken to the hospital.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
