Yi-Siliguri signs MOU with CREDAI- North Bengal for Yi’s Project – Accessibility

Young Indians(Yi), founded in the year 2002, is a movement to converge, lead, co-create & influence India’s future. Yi is an integral part of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) that aims to realize the dream of a developed nation.


Yi Siliguri was formed on 2013 & currently engages over 125 young entrepreneurs, students from leading educational institutions (colleges & schools) & habitants of 8 villages in & around Siliguri, in its various activities focused at Nation Building, Youth Leadership & Thought Leadership.

Accessibility being one of the core projects at Yi under the Nation Building initiative which aims to spread awareness among all stakeholders to make public places, commercial & residential apartments etc accessible to those who are specially abled by any means. It also aims to bring in engage stakeholders like government, promoters etc to bring in a policy change as well as change in the thought process to understand the importance of this inclusivity of specially abled in our society.


In its efforts to achieve the goals, Yi-Siliguri today signed an Memorandum of Understanding with CREDAI-North Bengal where in both the organisations undertake to play their part in making the buildings accessible by all & also bring in a positive change in the society which will facilitate inclusivity as well as positivity.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Lekh Ram Nyoliwala, Chair-Yi Siliguri & Mr. Naresh Agarwal President – CREDAI North Bengal in the presence of the executive committee & members of both the organisations.

The MoU signing was followed by a session by Ms. Devika Malik, who herself has overcome her physical limitations & went to become an International Para-Athlete apart from motivating others through her organisation – Wheeling Happiness co-founded with her mother Padmashree Deepa Malik.
