‘Will Take Revenge For Bullets In Form Of Ballots,’ says Mamata Banerjee in Rajganj

Siliguri, 11th April: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee addressed a meeting at Ambadi Sunamganj in Rajganj assembly constituency.

Reportedly, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid tribute at the Martyrs’ Memorial by lighting a candle. Ahead of the public meeting, the CM presented the records of development works carried in the past 10-year by the state government.

While addressing the public meeting, she said that when the people come forward for voting, attempts are being made to silence them, conspiracy to stop polling, and firing randomly on the voting line. She said ‘democracy was murdered in the voting line.’

CM Banerjee lashed out at the Election Commission and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Sitalkuchi, Cooch Behar incident. She said under the frustration of losing the fourth phase of polling, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) fired innocent people. She further accused BJP of not wanting ‘mothers and sisters to vote’. “This is the reason why the BJP is opting for violent actions, but we will take revenge for bullets in form of ballots,” Banerjee added.

She alleged Union minister Amit Shah is responsible for the firing and strongly demanded his resignation.

It is to be noted that the public meeting was attended by TMC candidate Khageswar Roy from Rajganj assembly, TMC’s Jalpaiguri district unit president Krishna Kumar Kalyani, TMC candidate Goutam Deb from the Dabgram-Fulbari assembly constituency, and many other leaders and activists.
