Siliguri, 12th October: State Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh handed over cheques of ₹1 lakh each to representatives of various Durga Puja committees under Siliguri Police Station as part of the West Bengal government’s financial assistance programme. Senior police officials and prominent social workers were present at the programme.
The minister extended his greetings to the Puja committees and wished everyone a joyful and peaceful Durga Puja.
The police administration appealed to residents to cooperate with the police, follow the guidelines issued by the authorities and celebrate the festival peacefully.
