“Visible change will be witnessed in West Bengal tourism in upcoming three months”: Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh

Bagdogra, 12th June: West Bengal Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh, who recently took charge of the Tourism Department in Kolkata, arrived at Bagdogra Airport on Friday and received a warm welcome.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said the Tourism Department and Parliamentary Affairs Department will function in a coordinated manner based on public feedback. He added that efforts will be made to strengthen West Bengal’s presence on the global tourism map.

Minister Ghosh stated that visible change in the state’s tourism sector will be witnessed within the next three months. He said West Bengal offers a wide range of tourism attractions, from the hills to the sea and forests.

He further said that tourism opportunities will be expanded to include people from all sections of society, including those who have not previously been able to participate in tourism activities.

The minister added that existing issues in the tourism sector will be addressed within the legal framework, with a focus on improving facilities and overall experience.

He also emphasized that the objective is to promote India’s tourism potential globally while further strengthening West Bengal’s position as a key tourist destination.
