Decapitated body recovered from tea garden in Bagdogra; police launch investigation

Bagdogra, 14th July: A disturbing incident surfaced after a headless body was recovered from Section No. 9 of Hansqua Tea Estate in Bagdogra.

According to reports, tea workers had arrived at the garden to pluck tea leaves as usual when they spotted the body. As news of the incident spread, local residents gathered at the spot. Police from Bagdogra Police Station and Ghoshpukur Outpost in Phansidewa reached the scene after receiving information.

During the preliminary investigation, police recovered an identity card from the trouser pocket of the deceased. The identity card bears the name Imam Khua, a resident of Pothia in Kishanganj district of Bihar. However, police are yet to confirm whether the body belongs to the same individual.

While the body has been recovered, the deceased’s head is still missing. Police suspect the person may have been brought from another state and murdered before the body was dumped in the isolated tea garden under the cover of darkness.

Bagdogra Police have started an investigation into the incident.
