Siliguri, 08th September: VIP Road in Siliguri, despite its name, has turned into a dangerous hazard, leading to numerous accidents. The road’s deteriorating condition has caused significant concern among locals, prompting villagers to stage a protest demanding immediate repairs.
Residents allege that the road, despite its “VIP” title, has been in a state of disrepair for an extended period. Large potholes and deteriorating surfaces have made it a perilous route for commuters, resulting in frequent accidents. Previous pleas for road repairs have seemingly fallen on deaf ears, with no action taken to address the issue.
In response to the ongoing danger posed by VIP Road, villagers held a protest by blocking the road and burning tires in Baribhasha on Friday morning. The villagers have warned to stage a massive protest if the road’s condition continues to deteriorate without intervention.
