Siliguri, 25th September: Siliguri Cyber Crime Police have arrested two accused in connection with two separate cases of cyber fraud. A total of Rs 1.68 crore in suspected fraudulent transactions has been reported in the two cases.
The arrested accused have been identified as 46-year-old Ataur Rahman and 45-year-old Zakir Hussain. Both are reportedly residents of the Dinhata Police Station area in Cooch Behar district.
According to police, complaints of fraudulent transactions involving crores of rupees have been reported in the cases registered against the two accused. During the preliminary investigation, police found that the accused were allegedly involved in withdrawing fraud proceeds through cheques and operating mule bank accounts.
Police arrested both accused and produced them before the Siliguri court on Friday.
Siliguri Cyber Crime Police are investigating their alleged roles in the cases and are also trying to identify other people linked to the cyber fraud.
