Siliguri, 07th September: The Eastern Bypass area in Siliguri has been lying in a dilapidated condition for a long time. The presence of potholes in the streets during the monsoons worsens the situation even more. As a result, accidents are on the rise.
Reportedly, a paper-laden truck lost control on Monday and overturned near Ashighar More. Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot later.
The truck driver stated that since the potholes were filled with water due to rain, he was unable to control the vehicle, resulting it to overturn. He further stated that due to the road’s fragile condition, such accidents are on a rise. Therefore, the locals demanded immediate repair of the roads.
