Siliguri, 04th February: Two men sustained serious injuries after they were beaten up by a few miscreants in the More Bazar area adjacent to Gate Bazar on Monday night. The incident has grasped all the traders under a state of panic.
It was reported that 3 bullies of the area often used to verbally and physically harass the traders. A similar incident happened last night during which the traders were severely injured. The duo is currently undergoing treatment at the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital.
After the episode, the agitated traders staged a protest at the NJP police station demanding immediate arrest of the 3 accused. A written complaint was also filed against them. Later, the NJP police detained a man named Nakul Chakraborty. The other two named Bapi Mohanto and Jaggu are absconding since the incident.
