Fulbari, 05th May: Following the political change in the state, toll collection on the Fulbari bypass has been stopped.
On Tuesday, BJP workers and supporters reached the spot and halted the toll collection.
Allegations suggest that toll was being illegally collected for a long time in the name of SJDA on the Fulbari bypass stretch connecting Fulbari to Ghoshpukur Road.
Reportedly, amounts ranging from ₹100 to ₹500 were being charged from both goods carriers and passenger vehicles.
BJP leader Rajiv Saha stated that this illegal collection had been ongoing for a long time, burdening common drivers. After the change in power, party workers intervened and stopped the toll collection.
He added that drivers have now been clearly informed that no toll needs to be paid while passing through this road.
The sudden suspension of toll collection has brought visible relief among vehicle drivers.
