Siliguri, 20th June: Police arrested 3 under the charged of robbing a jewellery shop in Siliguri and also recovered the stolen items. The arrested have been identified as Ranjan Chhetri, Amit Balmiki and Krishna Prasad.
According to the sources, a jewellery shop in Shitalapara area was robbed on June 14. Following this, the shop owner Nikhil Mandal filed a complaint in the NJP police station.
Based on the complaint, the NJP police launched an investigation and arrested Ranjan Chhetri and Amit Balmiki in connection to the incident. After interrogating the accused, the police learned that the duo sold the stolen pieces of jewellery to Krishna Prasad in Pradhan Nagar.
Acting on the information, the police arrested Krishna Prasad and also seized the stolen ornaments from his possession. The three accused were produced in the Jalpaiguri court today.
