Siliguri, 10th January: The Police arrested the groom and two women, for forcibly trying to marry a 17-year-old minor girl in Durganagar area of Kumartoli under Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s Ward No. 4. The three accused arrested have been identified as Korna Barman, Dinbala Barman and Vikas Barman.
According to the information received, the 17-year-old minor’s grandmother Korna Barman and Vikas Barman’s mother wanted to get her married. The matter was reported to the Police of the Khalpara Check Post. The Police reached the spot and stopped the wedding.
A complaint has been lodged against the three accused, based on which, the three were presented at the court. The Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
