Rajganj, 13th January: The CPIM staged a protest and submitted a deputation at the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj on Monday, raising several demands.
The protest march began from Ambari Battala More and culminated in front of the Panchayat office, where CPIM members expressed their grievances and submitted a formal deputation. The deputation was submitted to the Panchayat Pradhan urging immediate action on these pressing issues.
The party’s key demands included the legal protection of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), the safeguarding of job cards, the right to work, and the provision of houses for all under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for the poor.
Several prominent CPIM leaders attended the demonstration, including Kaushik Bhattacharya, a member of the Jalpaiguri District Secretariat Ratan Roy, and Secretary of the Rajganj Area Committee Bapi Dey, Amal Dey, Bhabanand Roy, and others.
