Rajganj, 16th May: An incident of theft at an electrical equipment shop in the Panikauri More area of Rajganj has created a stir in the locality. On Thursday night, unidentified miscreants broke the shutter of the shop and fled with a large quantity of electrical goods.
According to reports, this is not the first time the shop has been targeted. Businessman Bapi Dey, the owner of the shop, revealed that a similar theft had occurred about three months ago. After suffering losses in the previous incident, he had restocked the shop with various items including fans and electrical equipment. However, thieves once again struck and looted the shop, making away with goods worth around ₹2 lakh.
The miscreants also damaged the CCTV camera installed outside the shop. Despite this, the camera managed to capture images of four individuals involved in the theft.
The Rajganj police were immediately informed about the incident. Upon receiving the information, police personnel reached the spot and began their investigation.
The increasing incidents of theft in the area have led to fear and concern among local residents and business owners.
