Siliguri, 27th December: The Siliguri police have arrested a thief with six stolen bicycles. The accused has been identified as Gopal Majumdar.
According to reports, Vivek Ghosh, a worker from Sahudangi Panchayat, arrived at College Para for some work when his bicycle was stolen. Following this, Vivek filed a complaint of bicycle theft at the Siliguri police station. Subsequently, the police began an investigation and arrested the accused from Sahudangi on Thursday night based on a tip-off. During interrogation, the police recovered six stolen bicycles from the accused’s home, including Vivek’s bicycle.
The police have been receiving multiple complaints about bicycle thefts, prompting them to intensify their efforts to catch the thief. The accused was presented in Siliguri court on Friday. The police are now working to uncover the identities of other members of the bicycle theft gang.
