Rajganj, 06th August: A theft attempt at a mobile tower temporarily disrupted mobile network and internet services in Belakoba under Rajganj block. The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday night.
According to reports, miscreants allegedly entered the main mobile tower of a private telecom company at Babupara in Belakoba and attempted to flee after cutting important connection cables.
The tower’s security guard noticed the incident and chased the accused, who managed to escape from the spot.
Following the incident, mobile network and internet services were disrupted across Belakoba and adjoining areas, causing inconvenience to several users.
After receiving information, technical staff of the telecom company reached the spot and carried out emergency repair work. The services were later restored.
On being informed, police from Belakoba Outpost reached the spot and started an investigation. Police are trying to ascertain whether any equipment was stolen from the tower and identify those involved in the incident.
