Rajganj, 18th January: Ambari outpost Police and SOG jointly launched operations and arrested a youth with a large quantity of cannabis. The arrested accused has been identified as Bikash Roy(22), a resident of Bihar Shitalpur.
According to police sources, an oil tanker was seized at the Bandhunagar area of Siliguri-Jalpaiguri 31D National Highway on the basis of a tip-off. A search was conducted and 400 kgs of cannabis were recovered. The driver was arrested in the incident.
During police interrogation, the arrested accused said that the cannabis was being transported from Assam to Bihar. He will be sent to Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.
