Siliguri, 28th August: A helpless woman from Siliguri’s Ambika Nagar approached the police alleging that her 16-year old son Rupak Guha Roy was forced to commit suicide. She desperately demanded punishment of the culprits.
The deceased’s mother, Minti Guha Roy, stated that in the course of a conversation with his friends, Rupak, on July 22, accidentally fell on their neighbour’s tin fencing causing slight damages to the property. After the episode, some local youths allegedly attacked Rupak and humiliated him in front of everyone.
Rupak’s mother strongly claims that her son committed suicide that very night as he was unable to bear the embarrassment.
Minti Guha Roy has accused police of negligence as no arrest has been made yet. She expressed displeasure over the accused roaming freely even after a month has passed by from the incident.
