Siliguri Times’ Blood Donation Camp in Ward No. 09 a grand success

Siliguri, 02nd August: To prevent blood crisis across the city, a blood donation camp is being organized on behalf of Siliguri Times in association with Siliguri Terai Lions Blood Bank and Siliguri Rotary Blood Bank, with the support of Rangeet Rice.


           

The ‘BE A CORONA WARRIOR- Bleed For A Cause’ blood donation camp will be conducted in all 47 wards under Siliguri Municipal Corporation.


With fewer people stepping outdoors due to the coronavirus pandemic, Siliguri along with the rest of our nation is facing a massive blood shortage crisis. With the burden of trauma and surgeries in the current situation, several hospitals in the region are struggling to meet the daily requirements of blood. Doctors are facing the challenge to save precious lives.

             

In light of this, Siliguri Times is set to launch a campaign to encourage all to donate blood for the people undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection and also to aid those undergoing complicated surgeries.

The first blood donation camp was organized at Maheshwari Bhawan of Ward No. 9, on Sunday. The camp was inaugurated by District Trinamool President Ranjan Sarkar and Ward Coordinator Pradeep Kumar Goel.

With the active participation and dedication of the Ward Co-ordinator Pradip Kumar Goyel, himself, several residents of the ward participated in the camp. A total of 95 units of blood were collected on the first day of the camp.
