Siliguri, 30th July: In a significant breakthrough, Anjani Kumar Swatantra, mastermind behind the SIM box recovery case in Siliguri, has been arrested in Bihar.
Reportedly, on July 27, the Special Task Force recovered five SIM boxes from three locations under the Matigara and Pradhan Nagar police stations in Siliguri, leading to the arrest of three individuals. Following these arrests, Anjani Kumar’s involvement came to light.
Subsequently, the police from the Matigara police station traveled to Bihar, apprehended Anjani Kumar, and brought him to Siliguri on transit remand. He was presented in Siliguri court on Tuesday, where a remand application was filed.
This investigation follows a previous incident in May, when a SIM box was recovered from a mobile shop in Fulbari. SIM boxes were being used for various criminal activities. The Special Task Force and Matigara police station continue to investigate the entire SIM box case.
