Siliguri police to use drones for maintaining law and order in city

Siliguri, 04th August: With the consistent rise in criminal activities in the city, the Siliguri Police Commissionerate will place more emphasis on the use of drones to maintain law and order in the city and handle traffic problems.


Taking forward the idea, the aerial surveillance system was inaugurated by the Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma at Mahatma Gandhi More (Airview More) on Wednesday. With this, the city’s police will fly drones to monitor the traffic situation in the city and take necessary action. Also, in case of any major problem, drones will be used.

On the other hand, the police will keep surveillance during big festivals using drones. The police commissioner said that the number of drones will be increased in the coming days.
