Siliguri Mayor held a meeting with Police Commissioner to curb traffic issues

Siliguri, 25th September: Siliguri Municipal Corporation Mayor Goutam Deb held a meeting with the Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar to resolve the issues of traffic arising in Siliguri. The meeting comes following hectic traffic jams faced by the city.


As per reports, on Monday, the meeting was held at the Municipal Corporation office. DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Trafffic Abhishek Gupta was also present in the meeting. During the meeting, several proposals were given by the police to curtail the issue of traffic congestion.

In this regard, Mayor Goutam Deb stated parking arrangements will be made and the movement of totos (e-rickshaw) would be controlled in selective locations. He added that unregistered toto’s would not be allowed to ply after the Durga Puja, including the monitioring of the city autos. Furthermore, the Mayor stated that the local bus near Court More will be shifted and few buses will move from the new bus stand at Tinbatti More and others from the Tenzing Norgay Bus stand.
