Siliguri, 26th January: One of the major attractions of the Uttar Banga Utsav is the ‘Siliguri Marathon’. Reportedly, the Agrani Sangha has been organizing Siliguri Marathon every year in collaboration with the North Bengal Development Department. The State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb inaugurated the event, on Sunday morning, from Siliguri’s Hashmi Chowk. Several people participated in the Half marathon (21 km) and the Mini marathon (8 km) categories. The winner of the half Marathon was awarded Rs 1 lakh.
A slogan competition was also held in which many youths participated.
