Siliguri, 18th February: 30-year-old Shyamal Karua, a resident of East Chayan Para in Siliguri, died after he fell into a well, on Monday night. Shyamal was a house painter by profession.
As per the family members, the next morning, they noticed Shyamal’s slippers near the well and eventually found his body floating on the water. Shyamal’s family speculated that he must have slipped into the well, last night, as he often used to come home late and intoxicated.
Upon receiving the information, the Ashighar Police and the firefighters reached the spot. The police recovered the body, sent it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy and are further investigating the matter.
