Siliguri Football League to commence from November 18

Siliguri, 15th November: During a press conference at the Siliguri Sub-Division Sports Council on Monday, Sports Council Secretary Kuntal Goswami said that after almost two years, Siliguri Football League will commence from November 18.


Siliguri Football League is popular all over North Bengal. Players from different districts of North Bengal, hills and even Kolkata play in this league. Players are happy with the re-launching of this league. While, this year, no team will advance to the Super Division from First Division, nonetheless, to make the league attractive, this time the teams will play in knockout games and a semi-final and final will be held.

Goswami further added that all COVID safety measures will be followed and all decisions have been taken after consulting with the clubs. Meanwhile, preparation for the games has already kickstarted in full swing at Kanchenjunga Stadium.


In this context, Football Secretary Sourav Bhattacharya said, “We were unable to host a league yet due to the pandemic. Preparations are going on in full swing.”
